Housing Act of 1954 [Urban Renewal Program]

The housing act of 1954 was a piece of legislation passed during the Dwight D. Eisenhower Administration that saw a series of amendments to the National Housing Act of 1934. Through the program, the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) was tasked with managing funding for 140,000 units of public housing. Those who were relocated for slum eradication and revitalization were given preferential treatment. This Act had previous amendments made to it in 1937 and 1949.
